Good question I guess I wasn't clear...I have bought eight and they are all in service without any issues....the oldest one I bought is from July 2016, which has thousands of hours on it and it runs like new. They are really only effective for one room given they can only suck up so much air around them, so I've taken to get one for each room, since dust is generated in every room in one way or another, some more than others. I am sensitive to dust & pet dander so these units have essentially increased my quality of life significantly, hence my eight purchase. At $70 it is really a no brainer, I have four of these Woot C545 "refurbs" and they all came as new as far as I could tell. I don't use the wifi, it's actually a pain in the ass to connect, so not worth the hassle since I just leave them on either auto or some other setting which I manually change based on what's going on in the room in question at the time.
I have several of these, a couple of things I will add, they work great on Wi-Fi.
Download the app, connect, update the firmware.
What I do is I create a schedule for everyday say it like 8:00 p.m. to enable the sleep mode which turns off the lights on the unit.
Then I have it set to go back to auto mode at 7:00 a.m..
That $70 these are a no-brainer

How often do you change the filter?
Depends on the environment really but mainly once a year

This YouTube user [youtube.com] does this and is pretty confident that the cleaning is effective and does no damage to the filter but perhaps he is wrong?
It would be great to clean and reuse the Winix C545 filters as they are somewhat expensive to replace, especially is you have multiple air purifiers.

Might be better to just vacuum (outdoors), as some in the video comments noted.
I purchased one, directly from Winix. While cleaning, I accidentally tipped it forward and it fell flat. The fan inside started making noises at the highest speed, but it was fine at a speed below the highest.
I love these units and $70 is a great deal, but make sure you are careful with them. Because once the warranty ends, you won't be able to get a replacement from Winix or somewhere else.
In which case, Costco might be a good option.
