I have this laptop. 11400H with 6 cores is a solid performer and doesn't get too hot. It's solid for entry level specs. I've opened it up easily, and upgraded to 16GB Crucial RAM and added an additional Crucial P5 2TB ssd. Only con is the 144Hz IPS screen panels have low sRGB 62.5%, which Asus probably does for cost-saving and gaming. So if you can deal with the ok screen panel, then it's a solid deal. For me, I can adjust the brightness based on the room lighting.

I am curious about this "best buy via ebay." What is the point of that? Do you get any les protection as a buyer? the same ability to bring it in for return for refund if unopened? Same protection in refund Best buy has to give you if it is not working out of the box as opposed to being passed off to manufacture and warranty?

I my state if you go to best buy and purchase a laptop, turn it on and something is objectively wrong with hardware they (like say it wont start) or the wifi is not working out of the box, they have to take it back for a full refund or exchange, and if it was shipped, they pay return shipping. The urlhasbeenblocked bb as a seller on ebay are less protective for buyer. Buyer has to pay return shipping and they are siting on your money.

Now Costo wont let you use a laptop or TV for a year and return it like they used to but they have much better terms for buyer tan bestbuy. so does amazon if the product is shipped and sold by amazon.

What is advantage of using ebay to buy over using best buy's own site and stores?

Not really a good deal considering this (https://slickdeals.net/f/15994549-lenovo-ideapad-gaming-3-15-6-fhd-120hz-i5-11300h-rtx-3050-8gb-ddr4-256gb-ssd-549-99-open-box-excellent-for-532-99-at-best-buy-and-best-buy-via-ebay?attrsrc=search%3Aterm%3AIdeapad+gaming%7Csearch%3Apage%3A1%7Csearch%3Aposition%3A10%7Csearch%3Aresult_type%3Athread%7Csearch%3Aresult_id%3A15994549&src=SiteSearchV2Algo) has been available time and time again in the past.
Definitely sure it's gonna be back on BF if not sooner.

Not sure if a $100 jump is justified for the better processor.
TUF series has mil std grade chassis which is a lot more value.

I was wondering the same. However, this also looks to be $650 at BestBuy's website, so you could avoid the Electronic Bay completely.

In my experience, the seller return polices etc are a key part of quantify relative pricing. There are sellers who require you to return ship to them at the customers cost. there are sellers who effectively immediately push you off to warranty instead of just taking a return of a doa purchase instead of easy refund or immediate exchange with new replacement. Nothing nastier than dropping $1,000, having a failure after a day or two, and being without a laptop and without your money as well.

Although there are moving parts in laptops subject to failure du to manufacture defect (keyboard, hinge, cooling fans), most failures of the main solid state components would be during burn in say first few weeks, or a goof during QC final inspection with say a bad port. Having a failure during burn in is not common, but it does occur, and the policies of the selling merchant matter a lot in those cases.

I am grateful to everyone who is researching and posting these deals. It is very helpful. Now they cant quantify the relative value conveyed by different retailer policies, but we ought to keep it in mind. Ebay deals are especially problematic since sellers there can and often do insist you pay for return shipping even for a device that is not working properly right out of the box

How bright is the screen?
