Somebody tell me why this hard rock is an endorphin series?
I have a couple pairs and was definitely astonished at how hard they start. I've been told they soften up after a few dozen miles, but I've taken them out of my rotation until I get through my current marathon training block because I ended up with a slight injury after running in them initially.
This shoe was a big disappointment for me. It's billed as a "stability" shoe but when I wore it my knees and ankles balked. The platform is very narrow especially near the heel. The forefoot was wobbly. Putting the shoe on a table the outsole simply would not lay flat (laterally) against the surface. It was slightly curved like the bottom of a bowl. Very weird. The Shift wasn't fast either. It ran no faster than a clunkier Hoka Gaviota. There's no pop because the midsole lacks the PB pellets of the Endorphin Speed. Basically, the Shift is fraudulent "Endorphin" shoe. It's only an Endorphin in name only, not technologically. The rocker shape of the sole seemed off to me. I did not find it natural or efficient. In a clunky heavy Gaviota I could run a mile in 6 minutes flat and do 5K training runs in under 20 minutes with water and a heavy phone in a hydration waist belt. But the Shift bogged me down and made me feel like I was running into a strong wind even when I ran with less gear and no water.

Also had a pair of Speeds and those are wonderful. Highly highly recommend. Shift - stay away.
