I do a lot of my own maintenance and so Advance Auto Parts speed perks has well…….some really good perks if you're Elite status (spend $500 per year). Another way to max this deal:

1) Use speed perks and if you're elite, earn 25% bonus rewards for oil changes. So $40 oil change bundle = 500 pts and a $5 rebate.
2) Also earn $.20 gallon off shell gas for every $50 you spend.
3) Also link thru a certain rebate site and earn $10 rebate on $60 purchase.

Soooo…..

1) Link thru rebate site
2) Buy 2 Pennzoil oil change bundles @ $39.99 each.

~$80 minus $10 rebate (RMN $10 off $60), minus $10 earned speed perks, minus $5 shell gas savings, minus $25 Pennzoil rebate = $30 net for 10 quarts and 2 filters.

FYI - If you buy your filters from Amazon they're around $10 apiece for my F-150 (purolator, Mobil or Fram) so while the oil is $14, with filter it becomes $34 total.

What qualifies high mileage. I used it on my car with 95000. But i would like to use it on my 65000 mile car. Is there any draw backs ?

I generally see oil companies saying over 75k they consider "high mileage". No, no harm in using this in a lower mileage car. If anything, it'll help as these oils have extra detergents and additives.

No drawbacks. They just put some extra additives in that help swell your seals a bit (typically they dry out/degrade over time, causing leaks) and have anti-wear/extreme pressure properties. Most of the "high mileage" oils are really about marketing.

This is a good article in case you're wondering: https://www.machinerylubrication....ileage-oil

Key point - maintain your engine/vehicle/property and you'll have minimal issues down the line.

I think the 5 gallon granger deal still comes out cheaper if you trust the brand they sell, and want to store that much oil lol.
Bwaaaahaaaahaaaaa

The 5 gallon Grainger deal was vaporware. As many of us suspected. Never shipped and orders cancelled when they figured out you can't ship a 50 pound box of oil across the country and sell it for 40 bucks total and still make a profit. Pricing mistake or something, but I wouldn't waste time comparing to that wild goose chase deal

Subscription option is gone for me. Also says ships in 1-2 months, but also says arrives in a week, so I'm not sure what's right. Maybe stock is running out.

Google search on "motor oil shelve life" shows 5 years. The oil additives naturally break down.. 15K miles or >1 year between oil change are under ideal conditions. To me, it sounds too long. The analogy is that most auto-mechanics recommend changing life time transmission fluid and sooner. Oil and ATF are inexpensive compare to replacing an engine or a transmission. Disclaimer: I'm a DIY. Do your own research. Life time refers to manufacturer's estimated life time (Between 8-10 yrs ???) and NOT ownership life time.

Yeah ... No more subscribe option. I saw it when the deal was posted and didn't order at that time. Now the delivery is first week of November. I guess the deal as it was supposed to be is dead.

Facts. Speed Perks (Elite) is hands down the best rewards program in all of Kazakhstans. I have a shop and this program is better than their commercial account offers. I'm probably one of their top 5 "retail" (normal consumer) customers because I refuse to sign up to pay MORE for a commercial account. It's also priceless seeing the employees' faces and hearing the 877 reps' reactions when I have over 100x perks in my account after buying a ton of wipers, filters, or even the occasional engine. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say it's truly a challenge to use all of my perks due to the $20 per transaction limit. My last large purchase was about a year ago and I still haven't spent them all (and I use them on EVERY transaction, no exceptions).

I won't mention the truly juicy details of it in case one of their corporate staff happens to ever view this. Don't want to expose the awesome loopholes for them to fix lol.

Granger canceled all of my orders for synthetic oil. Said suppliers could not fulfill orders.

go into this deal anticipating not getting the rebate. pennzoil is a crooked company notorious for not paying rebates (google search it). but if you do get the rebate...its a good deal.

Got both rebates fairly quickly. Very easy to file online as long as you follow instructions.

The warranty says you have to do oil and filter changes at manufacturer's recommended intervals. This doesn't mean you only have to change the oil once every 15 years or 500k miles. Would be nice if that were the case.
