Far from it.

But, by all means, spend 4x as much only for it to collect dust hung up on your pegboard.

You're still saving around 15 bucks off the combo, right? Most people that are buying a new jigsaw are going to need blades anyway.

for a light precision tool like a jigsaw, it's incredible to not have the nagging pull of the extension cord. no dealing with adjusting it to the weight doesn't influence the cut. it's great. diamond blade can cut through marble window sills too. does what I need.

This saw is normally $44 (Model P5231) so they are adding $33.97 for the blades to get to the "retail" price of $77.97 for the combination.

Exactly...fine if you want to save $5, but not slick.

Bingo. It's a nice combo. The only thing I'd add is that it's been available at this price (for the combo) on and off for a while now, so you're buying this because you want it/need it, not because it's some screaming deal.

Thanks, that's kind of where I was at. I've been looking for an excuse to add to my collection and I have to install a sink here this weekend soooo.... Any comments on how this thing works for very sporadic use? My buddy said he'd bring his over when he comes over, but always nice to add another tool hanging in the garage too. Smilie

You can turn this into a massage gun with a kit.

It's a great tool for a DIYer. I've got an older corded jigsaw as well and I never reach for it anymore (it long predates my cordless tools). I've got different materials with this and never had a power issue, I'd say the only reason someone might want a corded or more expensive version (say Milwaukee) would be for longevity because they're using it commercially. Otherwise, in a DIY toolbox it's all you'll need and then some.

The included set of blades isn't bad either.

You do know that this product is basically a Milwaukee for the home consumer right? It is made by the same company.

And it is far from junk. I use these for my automotive needs and haven't had a failure yet.

Purchased this on the last deal.. Ended up returning.. The base plate could not be squared up and I don't know if it is just me, but the idea of an on/off trigger and separate speed control seems cheap and counterintuitive..

Haven't used my Ryobi days circular saw once. Anyway - I'm in for one.
