These have been showing up in TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Burlington and Ross for $40 a pair. I know you have to look for them versus OP has them available now. Just throwing it out to anyone that may want to check them out but not pay $60. $60 is still a good deal if you are already using them and like them.

In a word, traction.

The grip these have on a flat is outstanding

the second thing is the sole is pretty stiff which is a lot less fatiguing on your foot when you're hitting jumps and coming down. with normal shoes it beats the living hell out of your arch if you do any downhill riding

I have the pros for MTB and they're the last thing I'm worried about in a crash. They're built like tanks. They're less comfortable for walking than skate shoes because of the stiff sole. I've gone for hikes with them when they're all I have and it's not terrible but worth mentioning.

Grabbed a pair to try. I utilized the 5% cashback quarterly bonus through Chase Freedom by paying via PayPal.

I bought these earlier this year for a similar price and like them, but they are very wide for my generally normal width foot. I'll be looking for something different next time, but these are a good deal if they fit your foot well

Also the material on the outside of these is thicker than van so it can actually hold your weight without your foot slipping off the sole. They can also take quite a beating if you make friends with the ground often

I recently bought the PEARL iZUMi X-Alp Canyon SPD shoes for $65 and they are actually comfortable while riding. Many PI's shoes are on sale also.

I have a pair of these. They're heavy AF.. But besides that, they're fine. A little wide feeling on the feet, and you might want to go down a half size from your normal for trail riding etc.

I bought these during the last sale. They're very, very stiff. They're tight as hell, and generally uncomfortable. Though, this might be a personal issue, since everyone's feet are sized different.
