The REI jacket looks like it's 60g synthetic insulation. I would say it's probably roughly the same as this jacket in terms of warmth. It's hard to say though. The insulation in the REI jacket probably is a long sheet of insulation (almost like a blanket or t shirt). The 32degrees jacket seems to have synthetic insulation in each of the baffles in the jacket. The REI jacket probably has a better warranty though so that might make it worth it for some. I have no experience with 32degree warranties.

REI quality ranges between considerably better and massively better than 32 Degrees imo. Better warranty and return policy too.

If you have a store nearby. AFAIK, they still charge for returns if you just don't like it. Half my REI stuff is in a pile to regift Wink

Highly recommend. My first lasted 6 years and survived daily use and lots of travel. I now have a second. Incredibly light and packable. Warm enough, but not too warm. Wind resistant and can be layered to deal with prolonged/extreme cold and rain. The best part is that at this price if you damage it, you replace it and it's still cheaper than more expensive versions that are similar build quality and durability.
