I'm starting to shop for a couple scooters, just recreational use....not commuting or climbing any crazy hills.

Anyone lay some knowledge/advice on me?

Yes, get the S2 Pro for $549. 25 mile range, 19 mph top speed and this is a good price for it:

https://www.amazon.com/Hiboy-Pro-...B086N23QBD

I've tried various scooters and this felt more solid and sturdy and performed better than more expensive models.

This Evercross scooter, although supposedly faster, feels like a wobbly piece of junk:

NOT recommended imo. Don't let the good reviews fool you. They may be fake.

Is this the same scooter as you list for $549? for $469 no tax/free ship, direct from hiboy.com?

Hiboy S2 have had problems with the stems breaking. The KS4 supposedly fixed that "feature".

Anyone have a recommendation for a scooter that can make it up steep hills? Live in San Francisco

Never had a problem with mine. The S2's have some of the highest average review scores of any scooter, in fact.

I saw a few reports of what you mentioned, but not nearly enough for it to be a major concern. However, to be careful it looks like I'll be putting less weight on mine! nod Also, the earlier S2 pros were rated for 265 lbs, which may have been a bit much for nearly any scooter in this price range. Now they're rated for 220 lbs.

I just got a Segway for a birthday gift and with me being 160lbs it starts to really lose speed on moderate hills. Sometimes to the point I need to actually kick to get it going again. Flat surface it will do 18 to 19 mph.

Yea there's always more to the story than people tell, they could have been taking it off jumps or putting 500lbs of weight on it. I doubt it's a major concern but something to keep in mind. Personally I would still buy one.
