I have never flown spirit, but frontier is basically my main airline now. In the past, the prices have been very low and enticing although as of recent, this company has been having greed take over. They entice you with s cheap airfare cost yet they charge you $60 per checked bag (used to be $30)... They also dropped the baggage max weight from 50 to 40 pounds. If you end up between 41 and 50 pounds, it's another $50/$60. Also if you book a flight with a significant other and don't pay $30 per seat to choose them, they will purposely separate you as punishment for not paying for your seats. When added up, then end up being close to a ticket with United Airlines.
Every day but Friday and Sunday would be a better way to word
they're both in the same 'as barebones as it gets' / 'basically a flying bus' tier. if you just want to get from point A to point B with a small backpack and no checked luggage, it will do the job.

there are no amenities whatsoever in the flight (no screens, no chargers, no included drinks or snacks - you have to pay extra, no reclining seats), and the seats are even more cramped than usual. and they'll nickel and dime you for everything, so better make sure you don't go over the carry-on size.

as long as you know what you are signing up for, they both offer some extremely cheap flights at times

Very whacky deal due to this. Who's flying these days?

Valid for nonstop and connect domestic travel Monday - Thursday & Saturday
Everyone. But what I can not tell is if you are really getting the BOGO offer or not.

No valuable tips above: we've never been separated. Counter sells lowest total fare, knocking off bulk of fees: cheaper than topic's BOGO, cheaper than 100%off offer. Spirit counter appears to knock less off, by $20 on my purchased segments. Yours?

True, both Spirit and Frontier will waive a passenger usage fee if you purchase from the ticket counter. Typically saves $30-40 per person round trip. While they do typically separate you if you dont buy seats together, many times if you check in 24hrs ahead and the seats are available, they will seat you together. If you have a child and this happens, many times I go up to the airport after I check in and they will rearrange the seats, where the child will sit next to you for free. I think Frontier makes sure they dont separate a child from the adult when auto-assinging seats.

oh no, I've had Frontier counter knock $50 one-way(!) off of $80 online-total that day = $30 Frontier final total fare...While Spirit counter only knocked off $30 on same $80 segment tried minutes apart from Frontier counter, making for $50 total Spirit fare...Fares were 2-weeks advance (which appears optimal fare advance for most calendar months), refundable only 24-hours. A friend told me of similar fee discounts at major airline counters for overseas destinations, VS purchasing tix on-line - but I personally have only tried Frontier vs. Spirit. Anyone?
