NJ Transit is offering Buy 1, Get 1 Free Transit Tickets when you follow the instructions listed below.

Instructions:
  1. Get started by downloading the NJ Transit Mobile App
  2. Set up an account in the App
  3. Select 4 One-Way tickets and tap "Proceed to Checkout"
  4. Enter the promotional code FALLFRIENDS
  5. Tap your payment method of choice and purchase the tickets
  6. Your tickets will appear in the "My Tickets" section of the App
  7. Activate both tickets before boarding the train or bus

So I used one ticket in the morning (while on the way to work) and another ticket in the evening (while returning home) and I still have 2 tickets which I can activate and only used tickets have expired and unselected tickets are still available for activation!!

And of course I waited for a day to post this reply after checking the status post 00:00 hours

Today I used and activated only one ticket and showed it to the conductor. The other 3 tickets are yet to be activated

Thanks, I had to go into work four days this week, just purchased 4 one ways and saved $28. App wouldn't let me purchase two round trips.

Would I be able to use this as a round trip for two? For instance, from newyork penn to meadowlands and then meadowlands to new york penn?
I'm going to be visiting and not sure if they would make a fuss of this

It worked, morning I activated one and just now on my way back I activated one way, TC scanned it. No issues.

Yeah, I read their terms and conditions, and i have done that with the 10 roundtrip pass. Terms state that one-way fares are not refundable, period.

Side note: I've lived in all 4 timezones: Chicago, Denver, San Jose and NJ. I've lived overseas in 5 countries for 9mo - 1 year each. IMO, knocking "NJ" as a whole pretty much classifies you as a DS, even if you lived here. Everything is subjective.

Just get on a train and hide in the bathroom for 10mins then exit, WIN. Everyday the same faces use the same trick to skip paying.
