HVAC people will tell you that you do not want heavy duty filters. It puts excess strain on the furnace. These are a great middle ground. Been very happy with mine.

Fur is not dander. Almost any filter will catch flying fur.

These filters work great. I have about 6 left from a previous deal, but I just ordered another case.

Exactly. No testing by 3rd parties like Consumer Reports = anecdotal conjecture. A&H obviously doesn't make these.

Because I'm using them now, and they catch my dogs fur. I change them out every 2 months or so.

I've tried ordering these 3 times and they send 1 damn filter each time. They then sent a special carrier to come pick it up for return, because I told them I wasn't driving to the store to return it.

these go on sale every few months and all of the previous threads indicate that these are very flimsy filters.

Seems like this should be FP. Better than the similar HD deal for Honeywell and HDX filters. Ordered a 12-pack of 20x25x1 for $49. Similar deal was $45 for 8 filters of HDX.

Thumbs up and repped. Thanks OP.

Come on. No air filter on earth can ignore dogs fur.

flimsy in that they bend, not related to filtration capacity.

i work with HVAC guys all the time and they say the exact opposite. you want a decent filter that will prevent dirt / dust buildup on the coils. that buildup will lessen the efficiency of the unit (Costing you more money) and cause it to die or need maintenance earlier (Again higher operating costs).

airlow is calculated using 2 variables, airflow rate per unit area AND the total surface area. filters with a higher filtration rating have pleats creating a much higher surface area so that the total airflow is not reduced. here is actual measurements showing the difference. higher rated filters have less than a 5% difference in total airflow.

the most important parameter is the condition of the air filter. a higher MERV filter will trap more dirt and become clogged sooner and should be replaced more frequently (Usually every 1-2 months depending on usage). most people will not require anything higher than MERV 11.
