Gift it to my mom thinking "Oh yea, she deserves a good quality ss pan".

LOL she hates it. It's too heavy for her to use. It weighs over 5lb (Technically 4.7lb but because you're carrying it at the handle, physics and whatnot. Plus the food, most likely weigh well over 5+lb). Can't toss food in here. Well "I" can.. she can't since she's half my size.

It's usually at the bottom of all her other pans so it's such a hassle for her to take it out also. Gonna have to replace it with a carbon steel pan or something..

Try the titanium coated pans too.

How does this compare to their 5ply pans? Didn't think 3ply allclads were worth it

5 ply aren't worth it. D3 is the line you'll see in in most stores, restaurants that use all clad, etc. D5 is just heavier and retains heat for longer/heats slightly more evenly, but has little direct benefits in most cooking situations. If its $ to $ sure, get the D5 if you don't mind the weight, but there isn't a grand performance leap between the two. I have 2 D5 Pans, 1 pot and 2 D3 pans and 3 d3 pots all from seconds sales. Hands down I reach for the d3s most of the time just due to the weight.

Thanks for the info. That's the general consensus I've heard. Do you have an opinion on the copper infused?

Thank you for the well written response.

Another question, the ones found at HomeSense - Are they the real deal or made for the store? Kicking myself I missed a few for $20 now..
