So it only fits mini itx, but it's as large as cases that fit full ATX. It's on sale for $50, but it requires an abnormally expensive mini itx board (itx tax). Seems like a paradoxical product with lots of cons and few pros.

Is it possible NZXT is dumping these because they can't fit the newer 2+ slot video cards?

In any case (pun intended), this is a great find. Thanks OP. In for 1.

or maybe because this is one of the largest ITX possible?

349X210X372 is really only not that much shorter each direction than.. say HAL XB that can host full ATX/ with 2 optical drive bay and 7 HDD, with two set of water cooler.
HAF XB ATX case:
441.9 x 330.2 x 424

I use this case. It has JUST enough room for an EVGA 2080ti Hybrid with the radiator mounted on the front as intake and an Arctic Freezer 120 mounted on the rear as exhaust, with another 120mm fan on top for exhaust.

Buy the H210i for the additional $10. That's a no-brainer.

Is the only thing the i model add is lights? I'm wanting to do a SFF build that would sit next to my TV, but I want absolutely no lights since that would be distracting using it in a darkened room which is how I would use it most.

I don't want a glass side panel either, so I guess this case isn't really for me. I probably want something like the NR200p which has the option for vented steel side panel, but I haven't seen that come close to this price.

My daughter built her first pc in this case (white/black). She LOVES it. IMHO good case with enough room for a large air cooler and enough airflow for a lower power CPU (Ryzen 7 5700G in hers) but still notably smaller than the micro ATX cases we looked at. We haven't put a GPU in it yet, but plenty of length, just need to stick to a 2-slot GPU.

Looking at the B550 AORUS Pro we used, that mini ITX tax is a whopping $10 (current MicroCenter pricing)

I don't suggest getting Mini ITX; rather, Micro ATX is the best. In addition to cooling issues, components for Mini ITX build are more expensive.

Yeah, this case wouldn't be for you, then and yes, the difference is the integrated lights.
