So it only fits mini itx, but it's as large as cases that fit full ATX. It's on sale for $50, but it requires an abnormally expensive mini itx board (itx tax). Seems like a paradoxical product with lots of cons and few pros.
Oh, also, there is a Chase Flash Offer for 20% off a Best Buy purchase (up to $100) that some people may have on their card (one of mine does) that expires on 10/8.

I don't suggest getting Mini ITX; rather, Micro ATX is the best. In addition to cooling issues, components for Mini ITX build are more expensive.

Is the only thing the i model add is lights? I'm wanting to do a SFF build that would sit next to my TV, but I want absolutely no lights since that would be distracting using it in a darkened room which is how I would use it most.

I don't want a glass side panel either, so I guess this case isn't really for me. I probably want something like the NR200p which has the option for vented steel side panel, but I haven't seen that come close to this price.
Yeah, this case wouldn't be for you, then and yes, the difference is the integrated lights.

Anemic Airflow without nodding it. lol and bigger than it should be
Yeah, the way the front of this case is set up, it really bottlenecks airflow.

I just leave the side panel off, only way to get good airflow without modding.

My daughter built her first pc in this case (white/black). She LOVES it. IMHO good case with enough room for a large air cooler and enough airflow for a lower power CPU (Ryzen 7 5700G in hers) but still notably smaller than the mini ATX cases we looked at. We haven't put a GPU in it yet, but plenty of length, just need to stick to a 2-slot GPU.

Looking at the B550 AORUS Pro we used, that ITX tax is a whopping $10 (current MicroCenter pricing)
Hi Jim, great to hear about your daughter's PC build. What motherboard and air cooler did you guys use with the 5700G? Than you.

I dont even care about good. I just want decent and cheap. The days of $20 cases seem to be long gone. I have an old gen 6 cpu and parts to build a system to give to a friend but cant find a cheap enough case to make it worth it.

Speaking from experience, just one good tap on the corner is all it takes for that tempered glass to shatter into a million pieces. As much as I like NZXT's cases, I strongly advise against any that use tempered glass pieces for this reason.

Gigabyte B550I AORUS Pro AX AMD AM4 Mini-ITX Motherboard
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition (ran it with dual RGB fans)

We originally had the be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 White, as I've seen it in that case before, but apparently only with the ASROCK or ASUS ITX motherboards as they appear to have the CPU socket positioned lower on the board. That motherboard has the CPU very high and prevents the installation of the top fan with that cooler though. Not really a concern though as we ran it with 2x 140 intake fans on the front.

Search sama im02 on new egg. It's a sleeper case copy of nr200 series. Best bang for the buck.

If money is not an issue the incoming mushroom s would be my choice

This nzxt is a POS, sorry for the people who fell
In love with the look. If they upgrade with a mesh front then yes all day I would go for it

$60 for a basic case is a bit much for my needs. That Sama looks nice, but I would not pay $60 for it.

Own the h200 version and it is my favorite case out of my three cases. You will be limited in gpu selection though due to ever increasing thickness. Nzxt recommends no more than 44mm thick, so keep that in mind.

I have never heard of an ITX tax, lol considering they are typically budget boards and not performance boards. They come with fewer bells and whistles for a reason.

I cant even remember the last time I bought an ATX board, lol.

I love my MasterCooler Q300L case. I paid $30 shipped a few years ago on black friday.

It runs AsRock B550M Steel Legend, 16GB of Team Z Ram, 3080 TI graphics, Ryzen 5 5600X with a top-mounted Cooler Master 240 Liquid Cooler, an M.2 boot drive with a PCIe m.2 gaming drive.

I did have to add 3 front 120mm fans when I upgraded my graphics to the 3080 ti from the 1080 ti. That thing runs hot!
