I'm a huge tmob supporter. But the home internet didn't work out for me. Download speeds way to inconsistent.
And over past week, numerous Tmob customers, cell and home have had data connection problems, where you get disconnected from internet even though have full bars. Takes a minute or two to come back. The eggheads on reddit are helping tmob troubleshoot.. Something about ipv4 tunnel exit.
Problem seems to be the worst in New York State.

Tmobile's Home 5G internet is CGNAT. No public IP so no point in forwarding ports or DDNS.

There's a way of doing it by creating a server somewhere that has public IP then you tunnel to that. It's complicated for most and even if you pull it off, then you added lag etc.

Also, last time I had it, there's no bridge mode. This thing is so simple it's designed for simple things.

This. Why not try T-Mobile Home Internet? I did and have been pleased with the results based on my location and what I use it for. To be fair if fiber was available at my address I would use that. $30 for being on a Max plan is icing on the cake. Check out r/tmobileisp on Reddit for lots of info.

Ask yourself why you would consider switching from your current ISP?

1. Is your current ISP reliable (uptime)?
2. Is your current ISP too expensive?
3. Is your current ISP's connection too slow?
4. Is your current ISP imposing a data cap?

For me it was #1. I got tired of Breezeline outages, and not interested in Spectrum due to prior experiences. Signed up for Starry Internet when they were announced here last year and never heard back.

Be aware that they are now offering T-Mobile Home Internet Lite in addition to the unlimited, which is different than the original unlimited offering (data caps). My experience is with unlimited.

I have the Arcadyan KVD21, Ethernet cable to Orbi RBK50 mesh router (Wi-Fi 5 with Tri-band), Ethernet cable from Orbi router to Orbi satellite. Running Pi-hole with the Orbi, turned off Wi-Fi on the Arcadyan. Orbi has ipv6 passthrough enabled, Orbi is set to router mode with MTU set to 1420.

Generally 150-200mbps down, 20-60mbps up. Ping is around 20 idle. 0% packet loss. Even higher speeds after 8am (to 6pm) and 12am (to 6am). People on the tower must commute to work, which I don't miss. 😁

0.75 miles from the tower and I can see the top of it from the window where the Arcadyan is located. Spent the time finding the best location. Close to a window on the second floor, up high on a shelf, rear of the Arcadyan facing the tower. Use Cellmapper to see where the tower you are connected to is located. Connected to b66/n41 99% of the time. Tower switching is rare for me. Signal to Noise Ratio (SINR in the app) is rarely less than 20 for me, and can reach up to 30 for 5G on a good day.

I work from home via corporate VPN 5 days a week, lots of Teams meetings with cameras and screen shares. I game on Xbox Series S at night (Ethernet cable plugged directly into the Arcadyan). Wife games on Switch. Xbox NAT says open after performing "Test NAT" a few times. Never had a problem streaming anything on Roku TV and Fire sticks, probably 50+ devices connected to the Orbi routers, including PCs, TVs, phones, fridge, oven, window ac, Nest thermostat, MyQ, bulbs, plugs, Wyze cams.

Bandwidth in most mesh networks is typically divided by the number of active nodes and then adjusted based on factors present on each node.

If you have a node with a bunch of devices on it using bandwidth and you're testing on a lonesome node, you might just be lower priority.

Latency, however, is mostly physical. The only way to resolve this is repositioning your nodes.
The bigger issue is de-prioritization. Home internet is low down on the list, and if you get congestion at the tower your speeds can drop dramatically. It was too unreliable for me working from home. Even with a tower in eye sight from my house.

IMO, these are trash with an underpowered processor. Love the simple setup and management, but after a year with it, it constantly drops connections and forgets previously connected devices. Hoping the 6E version is more reliable, but I'm probably going to go with Ubiquity going forward

I've had tmo for 10+ years and love how cheap it is but the service effing sucks. My house is worse than dial up and my Verizon work phone is super fast. I've contacted them over and over and they blame a tower or my phone... It's frustrating.

I'm stuck with Xfinity where I live but checking deals here I've been locked in at $30 for like 400/20.. all good.

I have T-Mobile home internet. Changing the angle of the modem just slightly meaning half an inch can drastically change download/upload speeds. I spent about 3 hours finding the perfect spot in my small computer room. And I'm talking drastic one and a half inches and angled at a 45° angle I get speeds of 300 + down vs 16-20 MB down if I place it flat on its bottom and inch from the other location.

Not that complicated. You can use a service like no-ip to get a public address. You can run an app/script that updates no-ip with your current ip address.

Yes. My mesh point was the half the speed as the router. I bought a second router to replace and everywhere is top speed. I needed an ethernet cable connection though for each one

Are these better then the set of three eero I got from Best Buy fro $160. Thanks these thing confuse me and we have xfinity now. Plan on going to t-Mobil now since it available now here in Chicago
