Apple obviously knows the psychology behind pricing and 8GB base. If they start base with 16gb with $100 more would there be a drop in consumers? The 16gb would allow Apple future updates for the 5 years to run smoothly, not unless they are doing it partly to force all the 8GB owners to upgrade thus shortening the upgrade cycle. Apple knows their customers VERY well!!!
