This is the model with the jelly scrolling complaint by some people. I've held off buying one due to that.
Jelly. Scroll.
I hope they fix that or come out with a new one, but, if Jelly Scroll is not a thing that bothers you, this is a GREAT price for a Mini.

apple with its cost for extra storage capacity and printer companies with their cost for ink. these are blood suckers. for those who know how cheap these two are to actually manufacture know how bad it hurts to see these prices

I can't stand the 60Hz displays on this. Hopefully the new generation is 120Hz. Love everything else about the device. It is annoying on the Lock Screen (having the "TouchID" text over the charge percentage corner, but least of my worries.

I have been using for almost a year. No complaints. It's my go to device for media consumption and web browsing. It is very portable and got everything you would expect from a tablet device.

Is jelly scrolling present in other ipad models? I've used ipads since the first gen (currently using the m1 pro) and I've never experienced this.

And if it really is just the minis that have this issue then I'm even more confused

I have 3 iPads and 2 previous model minis . Each from a different release year. I have had no issues with jelly scrolling but after watching YouTube videos showing how jelly scrolling appears I rather wait. I notice glitches more on screens now since having laser to fix the retinas in my eyes last year. It's crazy.

Is there a reason to get this for someone who has the iPad 9th Gen 10.2?

My understanding is that it is indeed just the mini 6. And yes it is confusing.

Wow lots of jelly scroll comments in this thread. My wife has this model—Amazon has had this on sale on and off for $409 which is what we bought it at. The jelly scroll just impacts this one because they switched the primary direction of the screen. Apple (and Amazon with the kindle fire 8 inchers) assumes people will use these mostly in landscape mode. My iPad Air 3 screen was built assuming it would be used mostly in portrait mode. We use the mini about 50% in landscape and 50% in portrait, while we use the air 90% in landscape. Therefore the jelly scroll is a non-issue for us. If you've never used a mini before, you might be surprised how often you use it in landscape mode, when the jelly scroll doesn't apply.

I noticed it a LOT when I first got it, but my brain has since adapted and I don't notice it now. Not making excuses for Apple, just saying my own experience.

Just thought I'd add my two cents. I've had this model for a couple months now, have an iPhone 13, an iPad Pro 12.9 and a MacBook Pro 14", so I've got a good sampling of displays and thankfully the display on the Mini 6 doesn't seem anywhere near different enough to matter. I wish it had Face ID more than I wish it had a better display. The size for consumption is just awesome!

Only the mini. Jelly scroll is annoying. Worse tho is the scaling apple used on this thing. Makes it hard to view text.
