I'd say if you have a trade-in that qualifies, now is the best time to buy a P7 or P7Pro. They might have better discounts on the phone later, but doubtful they'll have this good of trade-in prices at that time.
I wasn't too impressed with my P6, I had issues with it, especially with the in-screen fingerprint reader. Also it is just a huge brick and I like smaller phones. I actually switched to an iPhone 13 Mini for the past year-ish, first time in the Apple side of things. I'm not as afraid/annoyed with Apple anymore, but I do still prefer Android as that is what I've used since it first came out.
With a trade-in, it is so cheap I'm going to give the P7 a shot. The device is slightly smaller from what I see and hopefully they've improved the software, including adding a Face ID unlock now. So I ordered a P7 128GB lemongrass from Best Buy and trading in my P6 128GB seafoam. If you include the $100 BB gift card, that means it is only ~$60 to upgrade.
