Absolutely no reason a home owner would need this. It's meant for drilling many large holes in studs/ beams to ease fatigue and speed up the process. Anything a diy'er may need this for can be accomplished by a drill. This is geared towards electricians/ plumbers, construction, etc.

Depends what you want to DIY. If you want to move plumbing then this is what you will need to get in between the joists to drill your holes if the joists run perpendicular to the path you want your drain to take. For putting conduit through studs, this is probably overkill unless you have a ton of holes to drill.

It could. Probably the average DIY wouldn't ever need this. But I've done a lot of electrical work where this would have been very handy. Another use case would be plumbing. Again, for bigger/major projects, so if you never touch those then you'll never need this.

You'd be better off with a purpose made tool. But yes, this will mix mud.

Simmer down. It's a legit site. This site has been on SD so many times - I usually see it for Kreg stuff. But "Lifestyle" is part of them.

Did you research the site? Look at the browser certs? A DNS look up for the site?

It all checks out. Lower the alarms.

If you need it, better to get the newer version that's longer and thinner.

Anyone have any insight on how this compares to the heavy duty Makita? I have the Makita which has performed excellently as a joist drill and as an earth auger with an 8" auger. I'm just curious if anyone knows if this Dewalt can be used as an earth auger. The Milwaukee 18v Super Hawg was EXTREMELY disappointing as an auger powerhead.

In for 2, I'll sell the batteries, chargers, and 1 of the drills and get to keep 1 for free, or probably turn a profit...
I hope you get the products and that they are other than counterfeit.

This looks too good to be true, I suspect fraud.
They offer a webpage that routes you to a different page than what you expect.
I think they have hijacked the focus camera website, when you go to their site it is not "focuscamera.com" it is a "lifestyle.,focuscamera.com".

Fair warning, it appears to be a Rip Off Site.

Killer deal on the Stud & Joist Drill. I've had this thing since it launched and love it. I have a Hole Hawg too (that features the form factor their newer model emulates). I prefer this one when I've got plenty of room to work. I feel like this model delivers a finer-quality delivery if power (that's the easiest way I can describe it): very strong power at even the lowest speed with little jerkiness. This thing is a beast, though, and can't squeeze into tight areas well. I also use it with a 7" power planter auger attachment (this drill happened to be their recommended model for use), and used it to drill a bunch of holes for planting, a fence, and even for some concrete footers I put in for a deck remodel. This drill didn't even hiccup.

It's a subdomain. This is basic web technology and has nothing to do with hijacking. It's not a "different page" in any security sense.

This comment is nonsense fear mongering.

Is there any reason to get this if you are a home DIYer ? I suspect this is more for contracting duties, eh? Homebuilders and the like?
