You can adjust the thickness of the shake by modifying how much water you add. I think the recommended range is 6 to 8 ounces.
I do recommend you make them in advance, and use either a shaker bottle or some sort of blender. I typically make them the night before in a blender bottle, shaking it randomly a couple of times during the day before serving it at 5pm.
