Well if there are 5, that means 5 people will get them.

I think there will be a lot of these available.

And this is just a tactic to convince a lot of people who wouldn't install a smart speaker, to buy a TV with a built-in, always listening, Alexa device instead.

Add it to your wishlist. Alexa will notify you with a yellow light 24 hours before deal goes live. Once that happens ask Alexa to buy it once it goes live. You don't have to track when it goes live.

Ban this OP this was a total waste of time and complete BS of a fake deal
I love this site, and my fellow slickdeal'ers, and these comments... given the endless forums I've read through, both here and abroad...I think I can understand people's frustration, but people obviously have not read, or can not read.. This was not a fake post..sometime yesterday, perhaps even before, all of the early access deals were posted in a "queue" showing their start times, and various prices, as prices stand/stood currently (prior to the prime early access prices). The sale, as a whole, kicked off at 12 am PST, 3 am EST today.I have no idea how so many times got thrown around, as it was there for all to see (a few comedians, and a few confused no doubt..). The particular TV in question, as of yesterday afternoon was ABSOLUTELY in the queue for an early access sale but, at some point, Amazon janked it from the queue. Various theories have been pointed out by slickdeal veterans, including but not limited to...1)Amazon has pulled this before..changed times on lightning deals/early access sales to keep people coming back, potentially buying other things that may not have otherwise... 2)I have read in numerous forums on reddit, and abroad, where people purchased deals ahead of time, hoping they might get a price match/refund (as we know Amazon does not do..)...but, rather than return the item...Amazon would credit the price difference in Amazon credit for a future purchase. This may explain the ridiculous fluctuation in stock, etc...or possibly why Amazon pulled this TV from the queue..? I have no idea. I thought that certain things went without saying, but each item has various sellers on the marketplace..so make sure the listing is sold/shipped by Amazon, and that you're logged into Amazon prime, obviously. I wish I would have took a screenshot of the TV when it was in the early access prime sale queue..I think it was slated to originally start around 2:25 pm EST (Oct 11)..when I saw it originally.. but I've seen so many dayum times and posts...hilarity and sadness..that I simply can not remember at this point. My take, it's all part of the fun, madness, and ridiculousness. Many thanks OP for the post, and to all who make this site what it is..the comments, just all of it.

Stay off the pipe, don't forget to wipe, and if anyone asks..tell em I'm chillin. ~ Shaggy

This was posted by Amazon on their own blog and talked about on their live deal chat. It's happening, or at least they claimed it was.

Newegg and late night Netbook deals in late 2009. I was there, maybe some of you were there. 😣

With inflation and a possible recession looming, will we see stores packed on Thanksgiving like we did in 2008-2010? Those were some crazy times, especially at Walmart. Wife used to drag me out there to people watch. People standing next to randomly scattered pallets of merchandise, hands firmly placed and waiting for the underpaid employee to remove the plastic wrap at the designated time. Some were impatient and trying to remove it beforehand. I witnessed a woman yell "I'll punch you in the face!" to another woman who was trying to remove a toddler bike from one of the pallets. I also saw people stepping on merchandise, crushing it, trying to get to another pallet across the store. Wild!

Here's a recap for everyone checking in this morning! Feel free to provide corrections.

OP originally saw the following post on the official About Amazon blog: https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/...best-deals

This page is managed and run by Amazon. There is still a possibility that the information is wrong, but that seems unlikely. OP calculated the $112 by taking 80% off of the $560 MSRP. As far as I can tell, there is no other official listing for this sale.

Originally, this post linked to the actual TV (based on the wording in the About Amazon blog post): https://www.amazon.com/amazon-fir...08P3QVFMK/

Based on previous sales, it was assumed that the TV would go on sale at 12AM Pacific time (3AM Eastern) this morning. There was confusion due to time zones and limited information, so people stayed up until 12AM Eastern and then 12AM Pacific, but there was no price drop. The pitchforks came out many times (and are still coming out!)

After the price did not drop at 12AM Pacific, the Slickdeals editors changed the title of the post to indicate that it could be on the 11th or 12th and changed the link to point to the Upcoming TV deals page on Amazon for the Prime Early Access Sale (10/11-10/12). There were claims that this TV was seen on this page at some point, but I never saw that. There was also confusion after the link was changed because some people ended up on the 55" 4-Series 4K UHD Fire TV page which is on sale for $360, but that is a different TV. (Remember, we are after the Omni TV).

From what has happened, it seems to me that the Slickdeals staff have no inside information on this deal and are trying to give the best info they have. Amazon has provided very few details on this, which is making things more confusion. People are upset because they keep trying to get this deal and feel like they are wasting their time. Some people actually think that Amazon or Slickdeals are intentionally deceiving them and that there was never any intention of this TV going on sale (which seems absurd to me).

So, at this point, we do not know when (or technically if) this TV will go on sale or even if it will be today or tomorrow. It seems like the best option is to keep checking on this thread for updates. Be careful as there are some trolls in this thread pretending to get the deal or to have seen the deal and many other people that are just confused as to what is happening, so you probably want to double-check any details that are posted. Good luck!

Though people need to calm down on the witch hunting, this was a prime example of misinformation spreading through comments and the Q&A section.

Nowhere on Amazon did they mention this, people were just trusting on other people's words that they did. I've been following the post from the beginning and there were no articles or posts on Amazon that stated this specific discount on this specific TV at any specific time. The only confirmed language was "up to 70% off select devices", with no confirmation of which devices it would be.

If there is no specific link or article directly stating a date and time for a deal, it becomes speculation and should not be posted as a heads up.

I stayed up all night refreshing the TV page... now I've overslept and am late for work and am going to get fired. OP, please respond with how you are going to fix this. My salary of $69,420/year will not be easy to replace, and I expect some form of compensation.

Thank you. This is the most accurate take on how this went down.

I feel bad for everyone who wasted their time but I've been on this site for 14 years and have always tried my best to help people. Sorry some of you here feel hard done by. I feel the same way if they yank this deal completely!
