The answer is Simple: the premium price paid for the very same result of course (and the small form factor). :-)
I can't believe I once wasted money on a "specialized" bike degreaser only to find out later that I already had all that I needed at home.

This is nice, but I've been buying Simple Green clear in big jugs for drivetrain and general bike cleaning. Much cheaper and less wasteful than this bottle.

As far as I can tell it's because this is a foaming aerosol, instead of a cleaning liquid.

After spraying a degreaser on the chain/drive train, do you rinse the product off or just wipe with a rag and apply oil?

It would probably wipe surface rust off but if its rusty it is probably too late. Just make sure to grease chain after each cleaning for your next chain.
