Considering a 4 gig plan for my son. I have heard the way they compute data is very shady with data mysteriously getting consumed very fast. Any truth to that?

I loaded $90 to the wallet and got the AMEX cashback. To load $90; just change 20 to 90 in the link.

Just a heads up, even if you are not up for renewal, you can pay in advance. So I was able to renew my plan that is renewing 1/2023, and just got the email confirmation from Amex!
Thanks for that, I usually renew annually when its about to expire (which would've been February 2023), went ahead & renewed early...any little bit helps!

But you cannot use the wallet to pay for plan renewal. You can only use it for adding data or international calls.

I don't think that's true. I've used wallet to pay pan renewal

Thanks. But that became $85 in wallet instead of $90.

Not sure why, but the loaded value is only $85 due to taxes and fees.

UPDATE: Never mind. The checkout page says $85 but the loaded value (after purchase) is indeed $90.

So after testing mint mobile in the tristate area, I will say that it is not very fast. I got around 50mbps for download speed and was super spotty if you are in a area with high population. As soon as I enter NYC, my internet is almost dead. I recently switched over to visible and I'm seeing my Download speeds at 200mbps. So far visible seems much better but is 30$ a month for the non priority plan which is what I am using. Just beware if you buy the 1 year plan!

Can you buy two 3-month kits to make it a 6-month plan? Or does it have to be two separate lines?
if you buy directly from mint's website (which this offer requires), you HAVE to use the sims within 45days or it expires.
so buying 2 hoping to use the 2nd one 90days after the 1st wont work.

note:
if you buy from best buy, you have until the expiration date on the package, which is usually 1+ years away.
i've actually used a mint sim from best buy 100+ days after i bought it.

does Mint charge each renewal every 30 days?
many low cost plans will charge you an extra month payment after 6 years if you renew monthly

thanks, this takes a little of the sting out of the added fees (~$23 extra on the $180 annual plan).
It doesn't help on this deal, but FWIW on my Verizon Prepaid plan, buying the card at Target adds no tax or fees. So my $60 plan (for two lines) actually costs just $60 flat. If I use Verizon's autopay, it costs $64.60 after Verizon's fees. (I try to buy the cards at Target when they're on sale, also.)

Interesting that Target doesn't sell refill cards for Mint; only kits with SIM card plus 3 or 12 month plans, like:
https://www.target.com/p/mint-mob...nk=sametab

I have the offer on my BlueCashPreferred, btw.

$30/mo is 2x the price of Mint.

I get 75mbps reliably all over the city w/ Mint. at that speed you can burn through 4gb pretty quick.
