It's designed for longevity. That non-replaceable rechargeable lithium ion battery in a PS3, PS4, or PS5 controller will be shot 10 years down the line and unusable. 30 years from now when you're retro gaming with the grandkids, you can just pop in AAs or add in your own removable lithium ion and it will work like brand new.

I used to also complain until I realized this. I thought it was a cop-out and thought the separate rechargeable lithium ion pack was just a cash grab. Now I wish Sony would do the same, because I don't know how I'll play the MGS Legacy collection on my PS3 20 years from now...

I use to only buy controllers when $30. $40 is the new $30.

Good price. Not sure why it bugs me, but why hasn't Xbox made controllers stick with a rechargeable battery? Going back to ps3 had them.

Use rechargeable AAs. Gives you options at least, if you have to throw in fresh batteries in a pinch.

Robot white feels like a weird name for a color. Who decided robots are white? Feel like Robot gray would make more sense.

Decent price tho, personally not a fan of the Series S controller tho, prefer the Xbox One. It was a little bit bigger and felt better in my hands.
