Other than it being simple, how is this an attractive option for hardboiled eggs?
Dont get me wrong I like my instapot for certain things, but it takes a long time to get to a pressurized state. Meanwhile, I can have hardboiled eggs done in less than 10 minutes on a stove. I doubt the instant pot will even start to count down in 10 minutes. |

If it's a re-post, relax. It's not the end of the world.

Never knew that IP was such a great egg cooker until I tried one of these. Other than the fact that the egg can be cooked in different doneness & easier to peel, IP also allows scheduled start, etc. Saves some hassle in the morning and not needing to watch over fire, etc.

How easy to peel depends on the eggs more than anything, and soaking in ice for a long time. |

Instant pot all the way for eggs but have no issues using what came with the instant pot for doing them.

What about longevity in the fridge? That's what we do with ours - cook maybe 10 or 12, keep in fridge and kids eat them as snacks or for breakfast. I wonder if "easier to peel" translates into "more permeable to microbes". The one big issues with IP is the time it takes to heat, boil and pressurize. If you're cooking a roast, say, the "soak time" under pressure might be 45 min but it will take 20 just to get there with preheating and pressurization. Meanwhile, stovetop eggs are done in 7 minutes from rolling boil, ice bath, fridge. |
