I got a refurbished iPhone Xr last spring from TF. It didn't unlock after 60 days, I was told that the device was initially activated before 11/23/2021. For devices activated prior to that date the minimum service requirement is 1 year. could not get Cr to budge. In June I traded it (still locked to TF) in for $700 off iPhone 13 Pro max on ATT at Costco without any issues.
Battery health was 100%
Some people mention a bad replacement screen on reconditioned TF iPhones - I didn't notice any issues with screen.
In August I got another reconditioned XR with $50 off promo (6000 TF rewards points) primarily as a backup for kids when they will eventually break their iPhones. The screen felt a little laggy on that one, not sure if this is due to replacement screen. Battery health still 100%

Maybe I didn't understand your question. If you want to buy from Tracfone and trade it in for another phone with another carrier or BB etc, my understanding is that it does not need to be unlocked before that.

Ok, we'll Ive never bought one of these prepaid iPhones to trade in before, but know a lot of people do it. I'll order one and give it a shot.

If anyone has experience with trading in a tracfone and can give insight that would help.

So where is the best place to trade in these? ATT you get $350 toward an iPhone 14, but for cheaper phoneslike iPhone 13 it's only worth $100. Anywhere it can be traded in for around $300 on a non $800+ phone?

Best Buy is giving $420 plus a $100 gc if you trade it in for a Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro. That's where mine are going.

$125 after tax for $520 in trade-in value. Pretty slick if you ask me.

If for some reason your trade-in gets rejected guys just buy 1 more month of service for $15 and get it unlocked.

"If you have an iPhone and utilize the TracFone network, after 60 days of active TracFone subscription, your iPhone will be automatically unlocked. However, this only applies if you purchased the TracFone iPhone after November 23, 2021."

You can easily turn around and sell it after that for $150-175 and get your money back with a small profit to boot. No risk here really.
