For the more power users: If these are like last gens versions, they may work well but they have a super limited admin interface. It's only accessible from your phone and the Google home app. You can still port forward, and the basics but its a little lightweight. Just make sure you do your research and check into that before a purchase!

unifi are so much better and the same price point
Lol Unifi is rarely better than anything, its just overpriced and average, with the big selling point a bunch of dashboards so if your in the whole ecosystem you can look at charts and graphs you will never use outside of when there is a problem LMAOLMAOLMAO.

Also same price I think not, $299 for one unit of the Unifi...

Yes I have used Unifi also have used just about major enterprise piece of equipment from Cisco, Arista, and Juniper and just about every retail networking product from just about any brand you can think off, so I got experience Smilie.

Fair warning for everyone, you will never ever get any speeds over 1Gbps from this device so the only selling point of spending so much money is that hopefully once you get some wifi 6E gear in your house, it will be able to cut through the interference if you have any and how bad is it, and offer you a smooth high speeds under 1Gbps connection to that one device.

In short your overpaying but not getting a lot in return when there are cheaper systems that use wifi 6 that can get you better results if you dont care about being able to customize it, and looking for a very hands off system that just works.

Mystery Man - wouldn't it been easier to just mention what other systems you talking about instead of leaving us wondering?

They have the throttle issue with the previous nest wifi mesh. The issue occurred since last May but they haven't fixed it yet. I am the victim of this and it is super annoying. I have 300Mbps internet and can only use 1/3 of the speed.

In case you need evidence

Lol Mystery Man I like that but I am in just about any router or networking thread for the last 10 years laugh out loud , so you can say I been around here.

The reason I didnt give examples is cause there are many and it depends if you want over 1Gbps speeds in the future or are happy with Sub 1Gbps speeds, also matters how much you want to spend, and if you want the ability to fully customize your network or want a hands off approach.

Quick examples of mesh systems with wifi 6 with well over 1Gbps speeds delivered over wireless are the TP-Link AX5700 and Deco X90 X4300 Pro, Asus ZenWifi Pro XT12, Synology RT6600ax.

Quick examples and there are MANY MANY of these so just naming the first few of the top of my head that will offer you sub 1 Gbps speeds: Asus Zen XD6, Netgear Orbi RBR850, TP-Link Deco AXE5400.

Then there are also the stand alone routers which can do above 1Gbps cause sometimes people living in 2500sq ft and under houses think they need mesh when in reality all they really need is one REALLY good router.

You are wasting your money. Wireless sensors are unable to direct airflow to areas that need extra heating/cooling. Only a zoned system can do that. With these sensors you will end up freezing one room to adequately cool another room. There are systems that use air dampeners and others that use vent dampeners but the overall goal is the same. Only cool/heat areas that actual require it. Zoned systems with air dampeners have been available for years but they were overpriced because they had no competition. These "smart" devices have forced the systems into a more equitable price range and deliver superior results.

Nest thermostat and the temperature sensors. I know I'm wrong but I don't care. Happy Friday.

So what do you recommend then? Unifi is certainly better than most standard brands.

lucky you man. Are you using all 3 or everything connects to only 1 damned access point? Big Grin
I got the link in the community. Not only me have the issue Smilie I remember reading that Google admitted the issue but never got it fixed. That is the thing I hate. Keep introducing new product and keep stopping support old ones.

I wish they would release one without wifi that I can just use as the attic/networking closet router. Currently I gotta leave one in my closet and that's a huge waste for my fully wired backhaul
That just doesn't make much sense. It wouldn't be cost effective for them or the consumer to give you a wifi system with a non wifi unit.

You should find a solution around it like using a switch for the closet that's connected to the main router unit that's down stream of router. Or maybe a 2nd router. like some ppl using orbi system as aps only.

Or find a way to remove the wifi antennas on that one unit. I'm sure Google not going to let u disable wifi on one of the systems.

I'm also curious. I saw a review video youtube and it said that unless you have 6E compatibile devices - don't get it. You won't see significant improvements in 2ghz and 5ghz range. I heard 6E compatible devices would have super high clean speeds though. I have a new macbook air M2 chip that's compatible so i will get this new set just for that.

Only question is - can i keep two and sell the other two with no issues?
MacBook Air m2 does not have a 6e wifi chipset. Wifi 6 only

I've enjoyed the ease of use, consistency, and speed of my Google Wifi and later upgraded Google Nest Wifi router; however, I don't see myself buying the Pro. A few have mentioned some of the limitations plus it is not compatible with the previous generations. My current setup should be sufficient for the near future as Google always seems to be a step or two behind with their technology.
