Previous gen before these only 1 had Ethernet and the others would work off each other and just serve wifi. I would suspect these to be the same.

If you mean from your ISP to any other device on your network simple answer is NO cause its limited with the 1Gbps ports no multi gig ports.

If you mean from a LAN perspective yes it can but that would only be transferring stuff within network over wireless 6 or 6E to each other, so not something very many people do.

Nope. I just wasn't aware of your actual router needs. Thought they'd be greater given that you're paying for a 900 down internet plan.

Does it have built in speakers? I currently have Google Nest with multiple WiFi points, those WiFi points acts as chrome speaker, which is very convenient to broadcast voice to different rooms, also to control the WiFi switches with voice command from anywhere in the house.

Can anyone tell me why this wouldn't have a 2.5gb WAN port at this point? Why are they advertising speeds Up To 5.4 Gbps when the Wan is only 1 gpbs? 5.4 GBPS is if you're moving something from one computer to another on the network but not what you could get for internet?

Thanks. I was paying $50/mth for 300mbps and Xfinity called me as I was coming to the end of my promotion period and offered me 900mbps for $60/mth, so just went with it as it seemed reasonable even though really don't need it to be that fast. Problem is the the 1.2TB cap Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

. I need to find a service with unlimited bandwidth at a good price.

Also, I'd be interested in know what exactly people do that they need top of the line routers and ultra fast speeds. Only thing I can think of is may be gaming.

All this to say, this Google Wifi gen 3 might be great, but the last version of Google wifi was bad on all fronts in my opinion, dont expect much more from Google, at least in terms of wifi. i'd love to be proven wrong though.

This is very true. I also hate the super-simplified yet inconsistent google home app. There are no advanced features or settings that you could go into in a typical router. this was pretty much a simple plug-and-play style. And, because it's simple plug-n-play, it was a living hell trying to add another mesh (purchased extra one later) to the existing network. The only reason why I kept it was because as long as the internet connection was solid, this system has really seamless coverage for the whole house.
1st and 2nd gen only had 1 wired ethernet connection port. I wish each mesh had at least 2.
Does anyon know if the new versions come with more than 1 wired ethernet port?

That's correct, however it still doesn't get my primary Google WiFi router out of the networking closet. You cannot do
