Amazon [amazon.com] is selling this knife for
$40.50, which is 24% off their regular $53 price. This is the best price on Amazon for the past 18 months or so. This is selling for $60-$99 at other reputable retailers currently. With inflation as it is these days, I'm afraid the days of the $30 basic steel leek are over :-(
Note: the
black color version of the Leek [amazon.com] is priced at $40.50 as well.
If you have no other Kershaw knives, I'd say snap it up and try it out. It's lightweight, opens quickly and looks great. I personally love the 14C28N steel version of this blade - it sharpens easily, doesn't rust and stays razor sharp with normal use.
Mfg details about this knife:
- Made in the USA
- Versatile 3 inch blade made with Sandvik 14C28N Steel, one of the highest performing knife steels in the world, for increased hardness, corrosion resistance and edge retention
- 410 stainless steel alloy handle provides resistance to corrosion and extra strength and hardness
- Frame lock gives the knife a slim sleek style while holding the blade open during use; tip lock keeps blade closed during carry
- SpeedSafe Assisted opening allows opening with Minimal effort and maximal functionality; simple pocket carry and tactical engagement with strong or weak hand
- Blade length: 3 inches; Closed length: 4 inches; Open length: 7 inches; Weight: 3 oz.

I would not recommend as a general duty knife though. A traditional drop point is much stronger and more durable, but the Leeks almost spear point while delicate is cool for some cutting tasks. It sort of feels like an exacto knife where you could precisely cut paper or gasket material.

Yeah I miss the days of sub-$30 Leeks. But I haven't seen one under $40 in a long time.
Same. This seems like a decent price, currently. I have 4 leeks so I am at capacity
