Hello Mobile runs on T-Mobile - their customer service is crap; but their telephony service is good.
I've a family member on Hello Mobile for more than a year now.
$5 + no tax (also, no data beyond 500 MB, but you can buy add-on data).

Lycamobile also runs on T-Mobile - their customer service used to be ok, you can chat & quickly get your Acc number & PIN. Not sure about that now. Their network is good as well.
I used to be their customer in 2016 & 2017. Their plans were pricey. I was on the same $19 plan

In either case, the coverage depends on where you'll be using their service the most. In my home in northern Chicago, AT&T coverage is bad, but T- Mobile's is good.

This deal is super confusing. Where does it say that this is for international travel? The plan just says it includes calls to international locations.
See below. It says International Roaming Voice and Text when you buy International Credits. They give $1.50 International Credit each month.

Porting out from Lyca Mobile takes patience. First, it takes a long time to speak with a representative, and if you are lucky enough they will put you on hold for 30 minutes and hang up after that. To port out you need account number which is not on your monthly bill.
Thanks! Won't risk with my main phone then.

Hmm, BBB gives company an F rating
I haven't had good experience with BBB, and MIntMobile gets 1.19/5 and a D-, which is nonsense. I had nothing but good experience for 4 full years on two lines with MintMobile.

Their website is confusing. Their plans pages says Hotspot Capable on all their plans, but their TOS say Tethering not allowed.

Then their chat person said no tethering too...but then of course they "hung up" on me too...

This place seems pretty sketchy.

Any actual users on here who know what's really going on with their hotspots?
Tethering means you are using a cable (usb cable from cell phone to computer). Hotspot means you are using the phone as an access point.

MintMobile doesn't list the account number on the website and you have to call in too. Don't let that discourage you.

When I change from 1mo to 6mo, the price for 2gb plan goes from $5.25/mo to $94.50 for 6 months...I expected 6 mo to be about $3x.

Just select the 1-month and click "on" for auto-renew and you're good to go.

I need wifi calling. I chatted with them and was told wifi calling is only enabled on specific phones, my Pixel 6A not being one of them.

Just use Talkatone or any of the other free wifi calling apps that give you a phone number. I haven't had cell phone service in 10 years.

Thanks, I had auto-renew On already, that's how I got $5.25. So what is the 6mo dropdown for? We have to pick 1mo and pay monthly? Can't prepay the low rate for 6mos?

To me, it looks like the only way to get the cheap rate for 6 months is to prepay. It looks like if you just buy one month with autorenew, only the first month will be cheap. Does anyone know differently?

Hello vs Lyca ?
Anyone have experience with them
Which one is better ?
Thanks,
I'm not sure about lyca, but I'm using hellomobile for almost 2 years. Line is very clear without any issues as it uses tmobile, I can reach customer care over chat or call and never faced any issues with them. Also, line cost $5 with no tax. I installed offline gps, and connect to store wifi when I go for shopping. at home I use xfinity wifi, so when I'm outside it get connects to xfinity wifi. that's how I manage with 500mb of data.Per year it cost $60.Also international calls to 75 countries (should not call more than 10 diff number, but unlimited for these 10 international phone numbers)
