I have no reason to disbelieve you but without sources, it is hard to believe the extent of what you are saying. Or judge whether you are spreading FUD intentionally or otherwise.
The models you listed earlier have very different NAND chips MLC and TLC, so it is unlikely a NAND production error. They also have multiple controllers, so it is unlikely to be controller error.
Google search only brings up some forum posts and long deleted Reddit posts of anecdotal experiences that can exist for any SSD.
But you suggest several articles and have so far refused to back it up with sources.
Again, I am not saying you are necessarily wrong but credibility is not high for the claims or you could be mistaken in what you read or may have generalized or extrapolated too much.
Until there is some credible sources to check, your posts should be taken as an unsubstantiated rumor. This is the worst use of a user forum.
However, I am not sure how one refurbishes a device like this outside of blowing off dust.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you. Do you mean you have 90 days total? If so, losing the full 5yr warranty is not worth $30 unless you only need it to work long enough to resell next week...
BTW - you can also get the SK hynix Gold P31 1TB for $92, new from amazon (Gen 3 too), so not much more than this. I'm not knocking Samsung (have 5+ of their SSDs) but this just doesn't seem like a great deal to me...
Also Samsung 970 evo plus, 980, 980 pro, and 870 line have had Reports of Defective NAND and such, just be aware of that. A lot of reports of sudden failing drives with errors in Samsung Magician leading to the drives becoming unusable, expect a RMA for a few batches of drives soon.
Whats the source on this defect ?
"a lot of reports" really doesn't mean too much... THe interwebs are full of "a lot" of stuff.

There are many disc cloning software that will create an image of your existing drive to a usb drive and restore it to your new m.2 drive.
Myself I like to start with a fresh windows install on the new drive and reinstall the stuff I really use. Then I put the old drive in an USB enclosure to get anything off the old drive I might still need.
you can get the windows 11 install free from Microsoft > https://www.microsoft.c
when it asks about activation just say you upgraded your hardware.
are you coming from a 2.5" ssd ? or a 2.5" HDD or another M.2 drive ?
Any way you just need the correct adapter to usb to get your old stuff back
The one I got has under 1gb of use and less than one day.
It looked like they just tested it and repackaged it in its original box (SN is on the box).
people return these for many reasons besides them being bad. maybe they meant to get the Pro or the Gen 4 and just returned it for an exchange.
it's easy to see how much the drive is used with crystal disk info (free download) and Samsung Magician tell you all you need to know. If it has a lot of use return it.
