22gram bars vs 45gram regular size larabars, would put at a cost of $0.94 per regular bar equivalent, just for comparison. Also, the 8 pack of regular 45gram bars of this flavor have the same discount, and come out to $0.986 per bar, so this is still a slightly better value.
I need a hobby.

22gram bars vs 45gram regular size larabars, would put at a cost of $0.94 per regular bar equivalent, just for comparison. Also, the 8 pack of regular 45gram bars of this flavor have the same discount, and come out to $0.986 per bar, so this is still a slightly better value.

Apple and dates are more than apples and oranges. Apple is 10% sugar by weight. Date is 60% sugar, 6x as concentrated. That's why the "healthy food" companies are using dates as their primary sweetener. No one uses apple. Date is just a way to add sugar without alarming consumers. Chinese have known this for centuries. There are a lot of date filled Chinese pastries, very tasty indeed.

It's fine if one of these a day is your primary source of added sugar but watch out for added sugars / reduce sugar intake in general is probably a net positive thing for most people.
