For people who want a concise comparison of the current Roku models:

Roku Ultra(2020) > Roku Streaming Stick 4k(2021) > Roku Express 4K(2021) > Roku Express(2019)

The "+" in the name just means a better remote.

These dongles do offer more than what Smart TVs have. Typically in the form of additional RAM and processing power. I can't bother with my Smart TV functions because it lags, no matter what TV you use, versus a proper Android box Roku stick or whatever.

Just curious but did you try and clear the cache? This happened on two of my TCLs and one I cleared the cache they went right back to what they were out of the box.

The sticks SUCK unless you have a dongle extension. Even then I hate the sticks. This is good deal. I bought one last year and have had zero issues with it. I love this this.

People wen ton and on about how much better apple tv is and since I bought one it's problem after problem. First it has chipmunk voices when watching a show and had to restart it. Then sometimes the apps randomly have to be restarted. Now tons of times it loses its network connection and then forces me to unhide the network to reconnect it again. meanwhile roku would sometimes freeze up and have to be restarted, but that was an old roku 3 and that at least wasn't as bad as the apple tv issues... I may just report the issues to apple right when it gets to the 1 year point. I didn't want to geta refurbished unit right near the beginning of using the new one!

I'm not sure if I got a dud but mine has had HDCP errors since day 10 or so. No amount of cable changes etc. Not sure I'm going with a Roku anytime soon.

Does the hdmi roku cable go directly to the television, or to the AVR for audio?

WARNING! ROKU has removed the ability to add a lot of the custom channels! The only thing that made the Roku worth it. My Roku 4k express+ they made useless. Roku sucks.

I'm using the Onn device now and I like it except in the YouTube app it crashes most of the time when I try to start playing one of the free movies. I'm wondering if it may work better with a Roku stick.

Does this come with the Rechargeable remote? Because that remote is a nightmare it dies so fast , and stops working constantly. I have so many issues ever since I switched to it.
