I have used Apple Watch since the first model and till this day I have never feel the need of the cellular model. If you use it, fine but being pragmatic, you don't really need it.

I've always wondered why get the cellular model. Unfortunately the stainless and Ultra force you to get it. Good thing is you don't have to activate it. But alas I came to a crossroad where I have an opportunity to need the celular function on the Ultra and that is in on vacation and do not want to take my phone scuba diving…. Decisions decisions

Just for my understanding and not to start a war. Why would someone pay so much of money to get a watch that needs to be recharged every day? I mean Garmin lasts a week. I understand the eco system, convenience of showing your watch at a register to checkout and all that stuff. But is it really worth the everyday charging pain?

Not so sure about that. I bought a cellular model a few years ago. Cut service after realizing it's a lot more than $10 a month once the unadvertised fees and taxes are added. Went back to the GPS model the next year and never looked back. I have an Ultra now (not sure I'll keep it). No way will I activate cellular. But also, very anecdotal, none of my close friends or family have a cellular model.
