PC Shipments Plunge 20%, Steepest Drop in More Than 20 Years

And for those that need to get around the paywall:

Not surprising...everyone bought PCs to WFH, and now they don't need them and have no money with cars/gas/utilities/food soaring.
I'd imagine the same holds true for TVs...I still don't know what people are doing with all of them. My three TVs are all over 4 years old, and still look great.
I guess what I'm saying is I won't be surprised if there are some real fire sales later this year in these departments.

Can't beat a 2.8k OLED screen, 12th Gen i7, with 16 gb RAM for this price. Slight bummer that the ram is soldered, but 16gb is plenty for 99% of people.

I also have a 3080ti in an external gpu case and developer mode says the gpu is still my limiting hardware.
In short, it is a beast of a 2 in 1. I wish it did not have the Arc gpu since I obviously don't use it and the laptop does get hot in your lap.
The screen is obviously gorgeous... I have bought a few laptops recently and this one is definitely my favorite, overall.
Great catch! If I wasn't needing a new tv I'd definitely get it open box!

Ordered but canceled right away
I ordered an open box-excellent earlier today and it's shipped out already.

Yeah i ordered one for shipping but received an email it was no longer available. I was able to get one at local store, hopefully will be ready for pick up tomorrow.
I have a hard time finding the reviews for this unit. Will play around with it once i receive it.

1. Does anyone know if Best Buy has begun their holiday return period guarantee?
2. Does anyone know how the screen looks when you lower the resolution to 1080p for games? I have plenty of other devices that can play games but hoping to play lighter ones on this device.

"International Data Corp., another data provider, said global shipments declined 15% in the third quarter with a total of 74.3 million units dispatched, though shipment volumes remain above prepandemic levels."
"still well above the 62.1 million and 65.1 million estimated sales from Q2 of 2018 and 2019 respectively. So, while the headline drop might look bad, the PC market remains in a strong state."
