They must have killed it. I'm only seeing $350 now as well.

Is this a good vr headset for games or is it focused on more of an educational instrument

It's for gaming. It has much sharper displays than both the Valve Index and Quest 2. It's Achilles heel is that it has slightly worse controller tracking than the Quest 2 and Index. The controllers can lose tracking if you put them by your sides or above your head, or if you have bright LED lights near you. It's also not wireless, so it doesn't have the same freedom as a Quest 2 does. It also has a lower field of view than the Index, but it's about the same as the Quest 2. It needs a gaming PC, if you weren't aware. If you don't have a gaming PC, the Quest 2 is your only option in the US. The Pico 4 is better for about the same price as the Quest 2, but it's only sold in Asia and Europe. That said, this is the best headset on the market under $1,000 for sim racing or flight simulator.

Yeah, it's exceptional value if you're doing VR in a seating or static position. For sim racing and flight sims it's the best around given the resolution on it. For anyone getting a 4090, it seems to max out a lot of the sim games close to 90hz on full blast, which is really kind of crazy.

If you have never tried VR, by far your best bet is the Quest2. Later, if you decide you want an incrementally better screen, with significantly worse controllers, you might consider the G2. Simracing is an excellent use for the G2, as you would use a steering wheel, and not the controllers.
