I'm wonder if guys blowing engines did the break-in and changed the oil after 25hours use , as recommended. I used full synthetic and changed the oil after 24 hours and again before putting it away.

just ran my wen 3800 for 3 days for ian, maybe ..maybe used 4 gallons if that running 5-8 hours a day, thing sipped fuel especially considering most of the time they are under light load so they idle down vs these non inverter type. With 25 gallons stored in nato cans and 3 LP tanks , and that 5-8 hours was not remotely needed i could go good long shtf time. Easy to load up to bug out location too. Ran deep freeze, 2 fridges, fans, lights, air fryers coffee makers, tv's, etc. I didn't worry 1 second about going 2 weeks with no power if it went that direction before the storm, i figured i had 11 days stored but real world i could stretch that out easily much longer.
This one ...loud as heck and would burn twice that in 8 hours....never used it.
Now have 2 inverters can parallel but really not needed. house is on LP so that makes my life much easier...no big electric loads. If youre on an all electric house you're screwed get big gen !@!@ + big fuel storage (whole home) or blow big bucks on batteries and crap.
