That being said if you are in the market for a small lightweight trim router for quick roundovers/chamfers or veneer trimming etc I would grab whichever is on your battery platform rather than these corded models. For that kind of work dealing with a cord can be infuriating.

I guess it comes down to a) will this be your only router and b) will it need to fit in a lift. If the answer is yes to both definitely go with the 1617. If you have a smaller 1.25hp trim router and you wont need lift compatibility then consider the MRP23
