This looks like a pretty good deal for Office 365 Family. You get 12 month plus a $50 Amazon GC for $92.95 which comes to $42.95 after GC for 1 year of Office 365 Family. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

I'm assuming you can add the 12 months to your account if you already have Office 365 Family as you can with most other Office 365 deals.

Update: getting this seems to move your Office subscription to Amazon which, from my reading, is not recommended. If you already have Office 365 tied to your Amazon, this may be a good deal but if not, it seems like we should stay away.deal to me

Seems like a good deal. I was wondering the same thing about connecting my subscription to Amazon. Do you have any references for what you found?

If you buy it thru Amazon, Amazon becomes the manager of your sub.

What does that mean? Do they have an access to data? If I buy another sub in a year through Microsoft will it work or is it locked to Amazon?

EDIT: Looks like you just turn off auto renew and it will revert back to a standard subscription once it expires? I already bit on this on the last deal and won't know until 2024. Seems like a problem for future me.

If I purchased this in May of this year. Will I be able to add another year or do I lose the remaining months?

It means you can't redeem non-Amazon Office 365 codes in the future without first getting the subscription management back to Microsoft. I found that out first time I tried entering a code purchased from Newegg. I ended up giving the code to a friend.

I'm not sure how it works to move the subscription back to Microsoft. Amazon has been having this same deal at least once a year (usually around BF) and I keep extending my subscription. Amazon's system has been smart enough to merge additional purchases into the exiting subscription. Though it is a bit scary for a while when it displays two separate subscriptions before the merge runs.

The blame for this really falls on Microsoft. They shouldn't have even implemented a way for third parties to own the subscription management.

At least without a clear way to move it back...

You have to wait until your Amazon sub completely expires before you are able to enter a non- Amazon code to renew your subscription.
Found this out the hard way so no matter the deal, I will not go back to an Amazon Office 365 account.

I just bought another year. Probably won't be a problem by 2025. Amazon will own Microsoft by then, or vice versa.

I decided to skip it since I definitely do not want Amazon managing the subscription.

I placed two orders and both are showing up on my "subscriptions" page in Amazon with same expiry date as Oct 12, 2023... I activated both.. did I make a mistake?

What does the family account do? Does that mean the software can be shared across different MA accounts or devices?
