Im kind of with the other user. How do you suppose google nest makes any money changing end users' thermostats without the owners' permission? That happened and I hope law suits are coming but who knows. I can see eufy (or other companies with wifi automated deadbolts) being forced or willingly opening dead bolts for law enforcement because of a 'perceived threat'

You literally have to sign up for that feature. You save $ by doing it to. I got over $100 credit so far. Its 100% optional.

Note - appears to use 4 CR123A batts, and if they die when locked, then you may be SOL (at least at that entry point of your dwelling). Otherwise, appears to be a good overall deal… just likely low grade (ie Grade 1 or below) deadbolt security due to compromised front deadbolt face that I assume you must remove and use Eufy overlay.
Dude you can unlock it with a key still

Dude, you want to explain what you're talking about? You're coming home at 10 pm and the batteries are dead. What key are you using? The Eufy overlay doesn't have an option to insert a key… and it's screwed over the deadbolt that it was retrofitted onto.
Better question is what overlay are you talking about?

Ugh, okay, my bad... I think I was mixing one of Eufy's other products up (on the Amazon page) with this one. I see what you're saying - there wouldn't be any overlay, agreed. Now, that said, many people may not carry a deadbolt key because they don't feel they need one with this keyless device. So, the point I was making to the other guy was that if the batteries die, then you could be locked out. Now, of course, if everyone who uses the front door also has a deadbolt key, then yes, I agree... even if batteries died, you could unlock deadbolt.

Strike the overlay comment - I was mixing up two of the Eufy products. Still the same issue, though... if you leave your house w/o a key because this is a keyless entry and the batteries die, then you're SOL because there is no battery backup option. Tell me that this wouldn't happen to some users...
It's on the inside so you can still use your existing key from the outside.

I do not have this specific lock but I have one that replaced the interior part of the deadbolt leaving the key portion intact like this one does. I have a key in a lockbox on the outside of my house just in case the automated one does not work. Haven't needed it in the past 2 years but I agree do not assume the electronic lock will work 100% of the time.
