Do yourself a favor and drop the internal filter in your fridge, it's a rip. Mine broke, replaced with a waterdrop filter in line before it hits the fridge. Way cheaper in the long run.

I put one of these in my utility room which has access to fridge water line, it has push connect fittings. Filter replacement is every year instead of 6m and cheaper than my filters were by about $20. So paid for itself and then some in the first year. Water tastes the same either way.

The prices are way hiked to begin with. These should be $40 at most. Besides, I'm done buying fridge water filters. I've had fair success cleaning them with vinegar, and if that stops working I'll find another work around that doesn't involve getting ass-raped. Water filters are God's punishment for stupid people.

FYI there are a lot of counterfeits floating around. I always go to a local appliance store (or big box) and order or buy. Same price as normal, and our fridge water is always tasty.

I just ordered the 15UA version yesterday to do the same thing, at $25 off for Prime Early Access. I'm done with the Everydrop filters for my KitchenAid fridge. They clog too fast, down to a trickle after 2 weeks of use. I can't believe anyone gets 6 months of use out of these things.

Ours last at least a year with a family of four (and a dog) before swapping. We live in the Midwest in an area with excess water. Municipal treated water too.

Your fridge takes an Everydrop #1?

I live in the city of Milwaukee. My KitchenAid was put in just over a year ago, and I've had 6-7 Everydrop #1 filters since then, and every one had a very slow flow within a month after installation. To the point where the stream is nearly sideways because it's so low it's sticking to the nozzle as it comes out.

I've had a plumber look at the lines. I've had a KitchenAid service guy look at the fridge and filter. I've had the city test my water and it tested normal. I installed an in-line sediment filter directly before the fridge filter. Same results with every Everydrop filter. Glad they work for you, but I'm out.

What the heck comes out of your water, rocks? We get 6mo use out of ours without any signs of slowing down. That's wild! Sounds like they're doing their job tbh. Curious to see how the Waterdrop solution works for you.

I also use Everydrop #1 filters in my fridge (obviously a Whirlpool family product like your KitchenAid). My fridge is also 1 year old. I am on filter #3 as of last week. Ran the filter it came with for 6mo, filter #2 for 6mo, and just popped in #3 as the fridge notified me to.

Sidenote I love how the notification is two-stage (order filter, replace filter).

I honestly think you may have been dealing with some counterfeit filters if you constantly have issues like this. I only buy my replacements locally. I recommend going to a reputable brick and mortar store for these (or go to an appliance store, and they will order the correct part for you). My local appliance store orders these from their parts supplier and they're the same cost as HD, Lowes, etc. but at least I can support a local biz.

Maybe I've had all fakes, who knows. Most of them were from Amazon, but two were direct from Everydrop and gave the same results. Slow flow after a couple of weeks.

And just to clarify, since "slow flow" is a bit arbitrary: the water flowing out of the spout is slow and thin enough to adhere to the spout as it comes out so it's flowing at an angle. Also, the "measured fill" can't be accurately calibrated when it slows this much, and a 32 oz bottle fill measures out up to 50 oz.

Ah yeah that's far too slow. After calibration, my measured fill stays consistent. Sounds like we have a similar model (albeit yours is branded differently). Odd issue!

It uses the #2 model.
