Nice price.
Not far from where the market is now with nand prices coming down but the retail market is missing out on last 20% of cuts this year.. out of 35% of cuts retail got 10% at best.

I would definitely get the 980 for a little more.

It depends. If you use this in a ps5, either one is fine. In a PC, I'd want the 980 pro for the superior performance.

Where are you seeing the 980 pro for 179? I see the 970 evo is 179?

It's $189 on Amazon right now, $209 with HS.

I wonder if I should return my 1TB Kingston Fury Renegade I got for 90USD and go for this 2TB drive even if it's slightly slower I doubt it would be noticeable.

Supply and demand. 2230 and 2242 have very little demand.

The time difference wasted between any SSD speed still faster than the time anyone waste browsing Tok-Tik.

Not really good for PS5 if you are looking to buy it for that. The PS5 M2 drive need to have a heatsink or it will have performance drops.
I've had one in my PS5 since April and it's been flawless. I added a $10 heat sink off Amazon and never had an issue. I spent about $60 more, glad to see the prices falling.

Not true. You can buy a separate heatsink for $10 and attach it to the drive then it's ready to go for ps5. Some have even not used a heatsink on the drives and reported no issues with the ps5.

There are three 2TB M.2 ssds on the front page. Which should I choose:
2tb intel 670p @ $126
samsung 980 pro @ $190-$10
crucial p5 plus @ $161.50

I see Intel is Pcie 3, so maybe that is out. Are both samsung and micron(crucial) 3 bit cells? I hesitate to get quad bit cells. Micron has broken the marriage with Intel, and have improved a lot while Samsung seems to be lagging now.
