Not sure this gets me anything as the only IHG I have planned isn't until Jan/Feb, but you never know. For those who don't know, if you have Hertz status (ex: I'm Presidents Circle via VentureX) your rental rates will be 2-3x the best available on most aggregator sites, and attempting to add your number on those 3rd party sites will bump your rates up at the confirmation stage. I usually book with kayak or the Venture card (which uses hopper as their back end) and then wait in line and have them pull up my PC status and direct me to a better car. It sucks to wait in line, but I'll stand for an hour to save 50-70% and get a nice vehicle.

Not sure this gets me anything as the only IHG I have planned isn't until Jan/Feb, but you never know. Longtime Plat--occasionally Ambassador--here. I did not get one single upgrade this entire year, only a minimal amount of points for the inconvenience. And it made no difference if I booked a month in advance or last-minute and could see better available rooms on the website.
To me, IHG status means nothing. Or worse, it means a source of frustration. This is just a warning not to get your hopes up--it's a sour way to start a stay.

Thanks for highlighting this. Hopefully they extend it. I only have a single reward night reservation before the end of the year so this provides basically no benefit beyond what I'm already getting for platinum.

this - IHG status only works outside of North America. the problem is that damn near everyone is platnium now. they give it out like hotcakes with their credit cards.
