Not sure this gets me anything as the only IHG I have planned isn't until Jan/Feb, but you never know. For those who don't know, if you have Hertz status (ex: I'm Presidents Circle via VentureX) your rental rates will be 2-3x the best available on most aggregator sites, and attempting to add your number on those 3rd party sites will bump your rates up at the confirmation stage. I usually book with kayak or the Venture card (which uses hopper as their back end) and then wait in line and have them pull up my PC status and direct me to a better car. It sucks to wait in line, but I'll stand for an hour to save 50-70% and get a nice vehicle.

Appreciated, though IHG Diamond benefits are quite lackluster...

My diamond status was just removed, back to platinum elite.

Same here. Better than the lowest tier that I would've been.
Doesn't it though? Smilie

Didn't really expect much, but over the past 30 days I have stayed at 4 different Holiday Inn Express and Suites hotels. Only one greeted me as a platinum member and none offered an upgrade. Figured they might offer a king suite from a king standard but no. Only benefit was the 500 point welcome bonus that you get automatically and the 60% additional in points. A little disappointing but oh well.

The upgrade is subject to availability. That being said, unless there are no more "upgraded" rooms available (highly unlikely), then they should have given you an upgrade being that that is part of being Platinum. You probably need to ask, as I did when I was a gold member at Hilton.

Guess I could ask next time. Regardless, most didn't acknowledge the status. Basically the only thing that was different then not being any kind of member was the bonus points.

Correct. Also, the early check in, late check out, and complimentary drinks laugh out loud

IHG doesn't give too many perks. HHonors Gold gives more when I used them back in the day for my Maui Trip. Gave me a room upgrade, free breakfast, free internet (big thing back then), and sometimes drink vouchers.
