The answer is no, this will not work. The Android operating system (OS) prevents other devices from sharing its VPN tunnel. If you connect your Android device to a VPN and then share its Internet connection to another device with a hotspot, the other device will not be routed through the same VPN tunnel as your Android device. Instead, it will use your native ISP connection.

Edit: It's possible with Root, or might be possible without root using an add'l 3rd party app on your phone:

Only $480 for a 128GB Pixel 6 Pro is terrible, must only be 0$ if you just bought the brand new iPhone and decided to trade it in.

Trade-in value for my P6 (256GB) went from $450 to $500 compared to last week. Still not sure if the P7 is worth upgrading for. Google Fi is still only offering $250 for trade in.
