That company had a rather bad AMA on reddit the other day.

All of Jetsons products are crap based on you buying one scooter and never using it? Interesting...

I had a Jetson hoverboard with kart attachment shut off without warning going downhill at like 12mph. No stopping power. Had to use my shoes and the board to stop. Destroyed the charging port (and my shoes). FWIW customer service replaced it and the replacement has had zero problems so far, but still. Not something I would get for a child.

Lol. Reddit. I can smell the middle age angst in teenager minds.
Reddit was useful many years ago. Now its just a dumpster fire.

This product has mismatched concepts and is a horrible choice. As a hoverboard alone it is fine. Hoverboards aren't meant to do the quick starts and stops and perform like you would expect a go-kart type toy to perform and it will run the battery down in minutes when you hook the hoverboard to the go-kart attachment. It just isn't going to work.

My kid got a similar one from same manufacturer and sold by Sam's a couple of years ago. We kept it because he wanted the hoverboard but the kart attachment is worthless.
I'm not disagreeing, but this cart does actually have two front disc brakes, so at least it should stop as well as any cheap go cart...but yeah, the motor end won't be so "responsive" due to the concept.

Don't do it. I bought my son the jetson hoverboard with light up seat deal last year from sams. Junk didn't even last 2 months before it was unusable

As a counterpoint, I'll say that I bought one of those $50 "hoverkart" hand-control attachments about 4-5 years ago. My kids have used the hell out of that thing with a cheap $50 hoverboard and the only problem I have had is with welds breaking on the handle pivots.

The hoverboard itself has held up perfectly. I've re-welded the kart handles a couple of times, most recently adding gussets, but the material is just undersized for the demand.

Regardless, I have no complaints about the hoverboard being able to stand up to this type of use on the sidewalk/street as well as my paver patio. I honestly expected less, but was pleasantly surprised.

Anyone can help find me a good retailer to buy a ride-on or go-kart with more than 5 mph speed ? My 5 yr old son already has a ride-on with max 5 mph speed and he already mastered it. I want to buy an upgrade for him. Thank you!

Radio Flyer makes a drift cart that's pretty fun. The top speed is around 8 or 10 mph I think.

Buy this one. My son is 9 and he loves it. I was getting tired of 6V, 12V ride-on cars. This worked really well.

So not powerwheels? How about… this.. deal. Right here. This is cheaper than a mid-high range power wheels and while equally poor quality probably much quicker

I had a go kart with a predator motor that cost $100 at harbor freight ( I think theyre more now), but it went 32 mph. 12 mph is very very slow, this would be for like super little kids, at a msrp of $499 I don't know if this is really a deal, it seems like a $100- $150 product where they marked up msrp to make the "sale" better
Electric tech is exponentially more expensive than those boom-boom engines (which are mass produced in china from stolen designs). When was this, 1998? I didn't know HF even sold a go kart
