For the health of the batteries, you want a charger with individual charging channels, i.e. one that can charge one battery at a time. These cheap Energizer and Duracell chargers only do 2 or 4 at a time (which means one will always be overcharged or undercharged).

There's an Eneloop charger with 4x Eneloop AAs for $18 (worth the $3 extra just for the Eneloop batteries instead of Energizers):

Or this Tenergy charger with a basic charge level display for $20:

Those batteries are 1000mAh, the Energizer are 2000mAh and should last 2x longer.
wrong information.

"Duracell Ion Speed 1000 Battery Charger", that's the model of charger, not mAh of batteries.

This charger is not for someone who wants their rechargeables to last as long as possible.
It charges two or four batteries. What if you have one or three? It doesn`t look at individual batteries and shuts each off when fully charged... it is looking at two or four at a time. It continues to charge any full battery(s) until the weakest of the lot is full. It has one full indicator light for two or four batteries. One of the two or up to three of the four "can" be overcharged. There should be four indicator lights to indicate that battery is full and charging to it has terminated. If batteries were cheap enough, it wouldn`t matter that you might be shortening their useful life, by ruining them or just reducing their capacity a little with each charge.

If you use batteries together, they are probably at the same state of discharge when recharging them and neither will be overcharged for very long.

Please, for the love of everything holy, if you see anything with the words "Tenergy" in it, avoid like the PLAGUE.

According to Keepa, it has been this price for quite a while now (from May and even before then if you look at the price history).

I bought these in March for $15, not on sale. I think this is normal price, & they just added an MSRP to make it look like you're getting a deal.
Oh tell me the tactics.. we all fall for it almost everyday. Sad truth and the new norm

If you read down in the description, it says it charges 1300mah to 2500mah (included), making it seem as these are 2500mah.

"Duracell Ion Speed 1000 Battery Charger for AA and AAA batteries recharges your batteries in 4 to 8 hours with 4000 mW of charging power, based on charging AA batteries to approximately 90% of full charge, when using Duracell 1300 mAh or up to 2500mAh (included) 2xAA NiMH Batteries. "
It says 1300mah right on each battery. You are describing the charger

True. I bought these from Amazon in March 2022 and they were actually slightly less expensive - 14.42 vs. 14.99.
