A great way to pick up the commonly used 3/8-Inch drive set and Taiwan's best-quality stuff. It's also the "professional" tier 3 set that they manufacture same as GearWrench 120xp. I also noticed the wrenches look to be spline which is a bonus because they could come in 6point,12point, some other weird unorthodox box end lol, or the proven best spline
.

So my question is, how do you know that the quality of these tools is the same as the GearWrench, who make very good tools?

While this SATA ratchet looks very similar to the Gearwrench 120xp, and even if they are coming out of the same factory, there are many manufacturing steps that could vary between the brands. We don't know what quality of steel is used or what kind of machining, heat treating, and coating processes they go through, or what quality control measures are taken. And I haven't seen an objective comparison of the 120 tooth ratchets that goes beyond "well, they look the same", to be able to ascertain any differences.
So while SATA tools appear to be a great value for pretty decent tools, the jury is still out on how these actually compare to the Gearwrench equivalents.

i work for a company that makes products for different price points. they might look alike but they are not the same.

Same with the Sears Gearwrench/SATA stamping. Somebody in the factory obviously screwed up, but again, same factory doesn't equate to same quality.
When it comes to Gearwrench, I only have the Taiwan stuff. There's a notable quality difference between the big box store made in China stuff and the more professional level Taiwanese kits.

It wasnt just one wrench is was sets and sets. sata is a branch off of gearwrench at the time I guess they decided to stamp them with both maybe to get the sata name out there a bit more.
