The 8GB 3200 MHz RAM is soldered, but there is an empty SODIIMM slot for upgrade.
Update: I'm finding it difficult to open up the bottom to access the rumored extra DIMM slot. It seems harder than usual to open up, I'm concerned that it may not be upgradable. Can anyone confirm if this laptop does indeed have an extra memory slot that is accessible without damaging the device? I'm afraid to break it.

Cons per my view:
- TN panel screen
- No backlit keyboard as per details on the Specifications page
Given the current state of PC sales, I hope better deals will be available around thanksgiving.

But that screen isn't worth the savings. Save your self before you save the money.
I think this is the correct spec sheet, found by Googling "Lenovo IdeaPad 1i 1215U":

Indicates it can take an 8 GB stick for a total of 16 GB. However: "The max memory is based on the test results with current Lenovo® memory offerings. The system may support more memory as the technology develops." So why not shove a 32 GB stick in and see what happens.
The soldered RAM is labeled as DDR4-3200 when it would have to be LPDDR4(X) AFAIK. Those are not the same thing.
