The 8GB 3200 MHz RAM is soldered, but there is an empty SODIIMM slot for upgrade.
Update: I'm finding it difficult to open up the bottom to access the rumored extra DIMM slot. It seems harder than usual to open up, I'm concerned that it may not be upgradable. Can anyone confirm if this laptop does indeed have an extra memory slot that is accessible without damaging the device? I'm afraid to break it.

Also, LibreOffice is great, free, and isn't a system hog. Great MS Office alternative.
If you REALLY need MS Office, you can subscribe to Office 365. One perk is you get cloud storage, so you can back up your whole system for a reasonable cost since you insist on buying junk software anyway.
Thanks, OP!
I picked the Lenovo today but will wait for better deals to come up. If not, it's perfectly fine as a TV laptop for me, TN panel and all.

Congratulations. You not only provided information that was never asked for, you failed to supply the exact answer necessary for a relevant response.
Congratulations on wasting thread space with troll posts. Maybe you should just thumb down my post instead of picking fights with strangers. BTW, all future replies from you will be ignored, have fun trying though.

Suggest you to look up for a youtube videos for help, more or less the same processes.
I recently bought a Gateway a few days back on sale listed here, but the keyboard, mousepad, and driver support all suck so I returned it.
I was excited to get this since it's a Lenovo and snagged one last night at 3am, went and picked it up around 10am.
Here's my thoughts:

If you'll be using this primarily docked, then it's a great buy for the price. If you're a couch-coder like me, it's worth hesitating over.
